Angie is our first place winner of the Lavender Speaks Writing and Art Competion!

This piece was inspired by artist and activist, Nicole Maine. She’s a transgender woman who became the first transgender superhero in television history; Dreamer. Using my art as a form of activism is incredibly important to me. As someone who is part of the queer community, I want to do everything in my power to raise awareness of the injustices faced by those in my community.
